Job Description

This role is for a Technical Manager who can lead a team with expertise in AWS, Databricks, and Python. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing data engineering processes and managing projects in alignment with business goals. The role requires both technical proficiency and leadership abilities, particularly in the insurance sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers, ensuring optimal project delivery.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data engineering solutions, particularly using AWS, Databricks, and Python.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Implement best practices for data management, ETL processes, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure the successful deployment and management of cloud-based solutions.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to meet set objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data processes and team capabilities.
  • Support the transition from contract to permanent placement, demonstrating alignment with company culture and goals.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong experience in managing teams with a focus on data engineering.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure and tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Python.
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry is highly preferred.
  • Project management skills with a proven track record of successful delivery.
  • Ability to bridge technical requirements with business needs effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Additional Criteria:

  • Experience in managing hybrid teams and remote work environments.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven with a focus on innovation.

 

Qualifications/Certification:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Commerce, or an equivalent field.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) or project management would be advantageous.
